Transportation Security Administration to Announce Deployment of Federal Security Screeners at Miami International Airport (U.S. Newswire)

On Tuesday, Oct. 1, the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) federal security director for Miami Ed Guevara will announce the deployment of TSA security screeners to the passenger checkpoint for Concourse A of Miami International Airport (MIA). He will be joined by Angela Gittens, aviation director for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department, and Steve Shiver, Miami-Dade county manager. TSA, which is responsible for civil aviation security, is in the process of establishing federal security operations in the nation’s commercial airports under mandates of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act of 2001.
