Jazz 91.9 FM WCLK Hosts Tavis Smiley in Atlanta Oct. 30; Audience Members Can Participate On-Air at Live Remote Broadcast from NPR (U.S. Newswire)

Jazz 91.9 FM WCLK will host a live national broadcast of The Tavis Smiley Show from NPR(r) (National Public Radio) on Wednesday, October 30, from 7-8 a.m. Smiley will join the WCLK family for the show’s first-ever remote radio show from the campus of Clark Atlanta University in the Multipurpose Room of the Bishop Cornelius Henderson Student Center, at the corner of James P. Brawley Drive and Fair Street, SW. This special, live broadcast of The Tavis Smiley Show is free and open to the public, with seating available on a first-come, first served basis. Doors will open at 6 a.m., with the program starting at 6:45 a.m. Audience members can bring questions and comments related to the day’s show topics, which will include an exploration of Historically Black Colleges-their purpose and relevance in an increasingly diverse United States-and an insiders’ overview of the Atlanta music scene. Smiley’s October 30 visit to Atlanta will also include a book signing for his new collection of essays, Keeping the Faith: Stories of Love, Courage, Healing and Hope from Black America. ...
