Whell I finally think I have enough information to make this egg… so here we go.
1st off… these things can be dangerous... NEVER EVER put any of these things anywhere near your heart… seriously…
Basic Camera Taser
you should know how to make this.
Just open a camera, TAKE OUT THE AA BATERY! And connect a screwdriver to the capacitor leads (looks like ½ a AA) to discharge it.
Take out the electronics board, and cover the board in electrical tape.
Now just connect 2 wires to the 2 leads from the capacitor and there you go
Put a AA in, push the little metal charge button on the bottom if you can’t hear the capacitor charge already, and now just touch the two wires to someone who won’t sue you.
NOTE: the smaller the wires touching the person are, the less area of skin, the electricity will bee distributed through. Something like the one shown here would most likely burn marks in ones skin, whereas larger ends wouldn’t leave any marks at all
Continuous Taser
Pretty mush the same as above, except the capacitor is cut off, the 2 wires are still attached to the wires where the capacitor once was, so instead of the board charging the capacitor, it charges whoever is connected to the wires. This charge feels about 1/3 as powerful as a full capacitor charge, but it is continuous.
little box of pain
it’s a simple idea, you charge the capacitor with the board and then the capacitor shocks someone. But the capacitor doesn’t have to be connected to the board to shock someone... only so recharge.
Ok... you’re going to need a couple of things you might or might not have...
• a box
• a push button switch
• some wire
• a riveter and some small rivets
keep in mind, the box should look nice. There is really no use building this thing if it looks crappy. Just go to radio shack and pick up a small project box. Or use somethi8ng else, a highlighter maybe :)
here’s the guts... nothing really that special. If you understand, just scroll down…
What you are looking at is a small open box. On the top, is a push button switch (let go = off, push = on) on the side, are 2 rivets with wires connected to both and a capacitor at the lower left. One of the capacitor is connected to the push button, another end connected to one rivet, the other end of the push button connected to another rivet.
…to here… so basically, when you push the button, the 2 rivets are connected to the ends of the capacitors, so touching the rivets, is like touching the leads of the capacitors.
To charge it:
now, when I took my capacitor off, I used a solderer, not because I needed the capacitor leads to be long, but I wanted to use the remaining solder, to attach the charging wires. These wires would be touched to the rivets, while the board charge button and the push button were pushed so that the capacitor would be charged.
To use it:
Just charge it, wrap your hands around it so that your fingers touch the 2 rivets (or however you made it) and push the button. The capacitor usually makes me weak in the knees and drop the thing at full charge, makes me go “AHHHHH” at medium charge and I can usually tolerate lower charges. (remember how it goes VWOOOOOOOP when you charge it? Yea that’s how you tell… also it goes down after time (30 mins) and useage (like 15 pushes))
Dumbass Grenade
this one is probably my favorite.
basically, it’s just a charged capacitor, with 2 paperclips wrapped around it loosely, in a way that they don’t touch, so that when anyone picks it up, they touch both paperclips which are connected to the capacitor.
Wrapping it can be tricky. If you’re good with a soldering iron then it’ll be a snap, just solider 2 large wires to the leads and wrap them around.
If you aren’t, some tape and a little creative thinking will get you there.
To use it just charge it with the charger mentioned above (with gloves on) and toss it somewhere where someone will pick it up... or you could toss it to someone expecting them to catch it.
Toss one of these down the hall during passing time and get ready to laugh your ass off (about 20 times)
try to put capacitors in some highlighers, or electrecuting a handle, post any ideas in the comments, and remember to rate my profile.
Jun 26, 2005 1:27 am - good job theRIAA. when u posted a forum topic about ur little tazer box, i was inspired to make my own camera tazer, and i did, and its awesome. anyways, very very good egg
Jul 13, 2005 9:17 pm - good one ria i made one and tested it out on my cat. her leg started to twitch then she meowed and ran away. i felt kinda bad. i was too pussy to try it out on myself:) i was wondering how many times worse it is than one of those shock pens
Jul 14, 2005 5:08 pm - if you charged it all the way you could have killed you’re cat.... jackass. it’s probly like 50 times worse than one of those shocking pens, but like you said. you’re too much of a pussy.
Nov 18, 2005 5:23 pm - i had alot of problems with them not working.... if you wraped it in electrical tape, try takeing it off,i dont know why, but it worked for me.
Mar 04, 2006 4:25 am - is it possible to make one of these actually shoot out?
you see i dont really know anything about tasers but im sure interested anyways 5***** and favs for sure
Mar 17, 2006 8:24 pm - NO you can not just charge the
capacitor it doesnt work
like that ive tried it
but theres no
reason to take the capacitor
off just put the board in
a cassete tape case then have
the wires on the outside and
yadda yadda yadda the switch
and what not. its what i
did and it shocks the piss
out of people oh and
theres no way to really
make a spark jump
unless you touch the
two wires you soldered on
and then it makes a flash
of electricity like putting
a gum wrapper in a light socket :D
Aug 19, 2006 12:47 am - Whoa Yet another amazing egg by the RIAA.
I got an idea.
With the Little Box o’ Pain. If the back of the box(The metal bit) is conductive you could have the 2 little rivits going threw that so then you wouldn’t be relying on the person touching the rivits. Instead they will only have to touch the back. (Which is almost imposible to avoid)
