Ok first unwrap the cover of the engine using a razor or scissors. If you just get a slit and start unwrapping it is easiest. Next, take ONLY the black and gray stuff. Break off up to the black rocky stuff and keep the black part. Then crush using a hammer and plastic bag. Get as fine as you can. Next add to film canister. Then if you have fireworks you can take the powder out of smoke bombs and add to make color and/or take powder out of firecrackers anything you can find and add. You can also add rust to make more smoke. Next, take matches and get as many matchheads as possible pack into film canister to top. Then poke a hole in the top for fuse and put on top. Then take hot glue gun and go around the lid and the lid ONLY. Do NOT use to cover fuse hole. Next, take candle and drip wax over hole for fuse. Now take duct tape and encase the whole container as best you can. Now your have a nice fire cracker which will make a VERY loud noise and produce smoke. I use many of these at a local community college near my house and it is funny as #*@! to throw them at the rent a cops there and place in front to security office. Have fun!
