Ok Ive had this saved in a notepad file for a few weeks but now that I have 50 egg points I want to add this:
Hey this is my 1st egg and it\’s how to change a pen into a BB gun shooter. I have made one but wasn\’t able to test it with any BBs since i dont have any right now, I tested it with a small piece of metal and it worked nicely.
You need:
~A pen
~scissors
~Pliers if you are having trouble ttaking the back of the pen off. The best pens for this are the ones with the round Back piece.
~A strong rubber band Or an elastic cord/string.
~some tape (duct tape works best)
Step 1:
Start off by By taking the pen apart. Seperate everything, so that you have the pen Tube-Casing thing, the cap, The front piece that holds the ball point in place, The ink tube, And the back plastic piece all seperated.
Step 2:
Remove the thing that sticks out from the cap to make the pen clip onto a pocket.
Step 3:
Glue the front end of the ink container (metal side) into the cap, try to get it sticking out as straight as possible (it\’s important to have it straight with the cap rather than bending off to the side.)
Step 4:
Cut your rubber band so that you have a long elastic band. Small weak rubber bands wont work, you need a thick one.
Step 5:
Find a place on the front end of the pen where you will tape your rubber band. You want to have it so that once stretched to that point on both sides and around the back of the pen it will be tight but not too stretched out. Leave a little slacke in front of the place you tape it. Then put the slack over the tape and tape around it once more.
Step 6:
Take your cap with the glued-in ink tube and put it on the back of the pen, with the ink tube inside the pen tube. Pull your taped rubber band around the back of the cap and tape it in place.
Now you are done!
To fire:
Simply load a BB in the front, pull back to where the BB is near the back end of the pen, and release.
It works nicely, obviously it\’s not a gun or anything . It launches a BB at about 90-130 FPS if you use 2 rubber bands and have them stretched well.
Enjoy
PS: You can put the front end of the pen back in and leave it sticking out of your pocket or something to make it look like a normal pen.
MY camera isn\’t working so I drew a diagram in paint to the best of my Abilities heh.
Im also making a spring gun type one, With a spring in the back, and an open part near the back where i could put a trigger to pull back the spring and launch the BB
Mar 14, 2006 4:56 am - Thanks. And note: the ink tube is just something simple but its not what works the best. The best thing to use is like A plastic rod or something that fits right inside the pin, And use a soldering iron to melt it onto the cap. The reason you need that is obviously so that the cape doesnt spin while its going forward.
