Why do we even have those rules? Is it just to make sure that Weasel doesn’t get in trouble for operating a site that teaches kids how to grow weed or make things that go boom?
If so, then uh...fuck him? Yeah, I’ll go with that one. This site would be sooo much better if eggs weren’t restricted so much. And plus...it’s Weasel. He barely even checks this site anymore, so why are we continuing to follow his rules when they just make things worse? Our mods and admins should take another look at RE and loosen the leash that our SysOp put on us.

The rules are put in place to protect the longevity of the site. If the site gets shut down because you think you’re the first person to use coke and mentos to build an explosive, then all the information (illegal or not) goes away.
Sure there’s the "freedom of speech, freedom of the press" in the US, but the internet doesn’t stop at the US, and there’s clauses and provisions in these freedoms that further restrict what is being posted. The Patriot Act, for example (gag).
