I think the PH16 is basically a Philippine spec D16A6. Not the best choice.
I’d go with the D16Z6 (if you can get your hands on one). It has a higher stock compression ratio.
Also VTEC is the way to go. Not only because of the variable valve timing, but because of the bigger intake ports and beefier valve train. It has a better oiling system too, so it can take higher revs.

doge this will be my first sohc race car.but the problem is the availability of d16z6 ill try to find one tho.how about ph16 with a td04 turbo do you think it will work beter than d16 since you say d16z6 has higher comp and i will need to get a dish type of piston for it to be turbo.and ph16 is a lot cost efficient also i have td04 turbo laying around.what do you think bro?
