I got a 2002 Mustang. Works good and never gave me much trouble but I noticed since last year sometimes it will start bucking (missing) usually at mid speeds, and since this summer seems like its losing power.
Today I went out and it got a service engine soon light blinking. So I didnt drive it.
I demand diagnosis.

So go to a garage and have them tell you. It would be a lot easier to diagnose the problem actually seeing the car.

Possible causes on the bucking, clogged fuel filter, clogged fuel injectors, EGR valve may need service.
Check Engine light on might be from a dirty O2 sensor.
Dodge should be on soon, he would know for sure.

*holds monitor against forehead and raises hand in the air*
Mmmmmmmm.... Sounds like an ignition issue. I’d check the coil pack, wires, and plugs (or have someone check them for you). If it is a coil pack, Ebay.ca has some decent prices, but check your local auto parts store.
Check that the wires are harnessed neatly and aren’t rubbing against any metal. If they are touching metal, chances are they are arcing through. You can tape them temporarily, but they should be replaced.
The business end of the spark plugs should be a light tan-ish color. If they are any other color, let me know and I’ll tell you what to do about it.
My money is on the coil pack though. Gut feeling.

Im bringing it to the shop this week. I got a free 1993 gmc jimmy from my uncle for when the snow comes before I go to work. Also good for in the woods when I go hunting.

Theres a fucking light blinking on the dash that says "HURR I NEED A SERVICE"
And you come to RE asking what to do? Follow your common fucking sense and take the damn thing to a garage and get it serviced.

^ What if it’s a simple enough fix for him to do it himself? Why pay someone to do things you can do yourself.

***Looks through the universe to your car***
Your timing belt is going. If you don’t get it fixed, you will throw a rod.

*Touches your naughty place*
Is it cold in here?
You need a new piece of electrical tape over your check engine light. the old one dried up.

You can get a cheapo code reader for $100 or less. Plug it in and get the fault number.

No, I’m pretty sure when his timing belt breaks he gets pissed and throws a rod across the room. XD

I’m not going to read all of ^these^ responses right now.
Call up local parts stores, ask them if they do OBDII (say OH BEE DEE TWO) diagnostic tests for free. If so, get it done. When they want to sell you a part, tell them that they can tongue your wild wet asshole, and then tell them visit YouN00b.com.
Now that they are thoroughly confused, briskly leave and post the code (P022) or whatever it is, and we’ll work with that. Chances are it’s because it’s a Ford though.

Pretty clear why I don’t waste my time. If it’s not worth your effort to post the codes, it’s not worth my effort to post solutions.
