First of...how has everybody been...I haven’t been around in a long while...

Secondly...

In recent weeks, my computer had been infected by the dreaded google redirect virus. I spent a lot of time trying to take away the virus (which i was unable to accomplish), and in my efforts, may have screwed up my computer badly. I had downloaded a trial copy of Pareto Logic Antivirus, and after a scan, I tried to delete the "infected files" manually. (Because the software won’t do this unless you buy) After doing this and restarting my computer, I am no longer able to go on the internet. I was going to try to reinstall firefox (i checked internet explorer as well), but upon plugging in my flashdrive, I got the error: "I:\\ not accessible Insufficient system resources available to complete the requested service."

I don’t know what to do... :(

I really need my computer to be functional, so all help is appreciated. Ask any questions necessary, please help.

(Sorry about poor grammar...im in a rush to get my computer fixed)

I’m assuming you bought it in the store, meaning you have an activation code, correct? So why not just find (download, find a friend, have someone mail you one) an OEM of whatever version of Windows you have, and reinstall it using your code. Not only will it fix it, it will run extremely fast, compared to normal, and it won’t be bloated with all that bullshit that computer companies load on there. It will only have what you want.

He’s saying download (probably tby torrent, if you torrent) a copy of whichever windows version you are using. Then burn it to disc, and then do a clean install on your computer, using your current serial. (It may be on a sticker on the side of your pc, or you should be able to find it in the control panel under "system.")

This will wipe all the crap off your pc, but also the stuff you want to keep, so if you can burn that to disc or back it up somehow then you can load it back onto the pc once you have re-installed windows. Then you will have a working pc, which will probably run a lot faster than it does just now as it wont be bloated with shit.

It might seem like a lot of hassle but I’d say it’s definately worth it. And it would get rid of your problems.

Fuck system restore- you all need to think outside the box. Install some version of linux onto a flash drive, pop that thing in, reboot, and, if the boot order is right, it’ll boot from that. What you do after that is you install a program called Wine (it allows you to use windows programs in linux) on that. Then, install a program called Malwarebytes Anti- Malware. Then, using Wine, run it and do a full scan of your system. If all goes well, your computer will be virus free.

I wasnt meaning system restore to get rid of the virus- generally that doesnt work. I meant to restore all the obviously vital windows components he needs, so that it would enable him to at least get it back online, and then we could see about getting rid of the virus.

Your way just seems very longwinded and kinda pointless... sorry!

ComboFix
Run that, Doesn’t need that much resources because it is through command prompt. Guaranteed to remove the virus/malware. It is freeware too.

If all of that fails, nothing like a good ol’ system recovery disk to totally wipe everything clean.

Download AVG anti virus and Ad-Aware Se for anti spyware. Reboot your computer in safe mode and run the scans. After that see if its gone. Safe mode scans usually take out viruses and spyware pretty good.

do not run combofix

You can fuck something up real bad, worse than before. Never run combofix unless advised to by a professional helper.

If you have a install disc for you OS just reinstall your OS. Back up whatever you need and then go from there. That’s what I always used to do, because my last computer didn’t have a built in restore option.

Is no one listening to me? USE LINUX TO RUN MALWAREBYTES. I use it all the time when a friend comes to me for computer help. I mean, is there any other way to get rid of an advanced infection of Antivirus 360?
