Your dad makes over 250,000 a year? If not, his taxes won’t rise. And even if it is, he’s not going to take money out of his bank account or some shit. He’s not going to be sending out checks and shit to everyone who are broke too. He will lower the taxes for 95% of Americans(I heard him say this like 300 times by now) and also remove the tax breaks Bush gave out to the fat corporations, which is in a sense "spreading the wealth", but it’s not as the republicans are making it seem.
McCain likes to scream "dey gone rase taxis!" to try and instill fear into the whites. I noticed fearmongering is his #1 tool to try and win this election. Every other day he tries to connect Obama with terrorists and shit. It’s pretty pathetic.
Today, McCain had the Terminator with him in a rally, it was pretty funny. I barely understood what he said, the only parts I caught were when he used catch phrases from his movies.

I don’t think your family brings in more than 250,000. Plus, if you do, that’s quite a large sum, most people live off $50,000/lower year. Meaning, you can throw an extra 2 cents into the donation jar.
And those people that DON’T work won’t get any extra unemployement benefits.
And those people that have lower paying jobs actually make it easier for you to live. They clean up after you, provide you with food, education, protection, sanitary conditions wherever you go so you don’t catch some deadly fucking virus and DIE on the god damn street. If anything you should be thankful that they will get a tax cut so they will keep wanting to do their jobs.

Exactly. This is why I can’t even bother with retards like the OP who don’t know enough about what they’re talking about before they start shooting off their mouth about stupid shit.
When that one woman asked McCain at his rally in Lakeville, Minnesota a week or two ago and asked, "I heard that OH BAM UH is a MUSLIM TERRORIST!", I didn’t even know how to react to it.
Getting back to my original point, my friend was at school and had to debate politics with kids in his class, and once again, some idiot girl said the same thing mentioned above, and sure enough because the majority of people where I live are Republican, she took what her parents had to say as law and couldn’t form her own opinion. He also mentioned that some kid was trying to say that "Seperation Of Church and State" wasn’t an amendment to the constitution, but an ideology.

Yeah, I watched that clip from the rally as well.
Thank god I live in Oakland is all I can say.

What about the lawyers and doctors who went to school for 7+ years to make that kind of money, they slaved away in school and struggled so they could have a better future for themselves, then some guy in a suit is going to come in and take it from ’em and give it to the people who took the easy route?

It’s a basic human trait to try and make the best of your life, it’s like Obama is trying to punish the people who succeeded in it.

I don’t care who gets elected, either one is going to do a shitty job
I just think McCain has less skeletons in his closet and is more experienced
But still, taxes should be a set percentage

If you make 500,000 a year the difference in taxes you would paying is a $16,000 difference from Obama to McCain (considering that tax calculator I used was correct).
That’s a lot of money, that a "rich bastard" will be "donating" to the less wealthy. I know someday I would like to make that kind of money, it’s just a punishment for being rich, that’s just not right.

I support a flat tax rate because I don’t believe in punishing people for being successful. However, there is no real way to create a flat tax rate with the current accounting system in place for corporations. For example, corporations are only taxed on profit. If I buy myself a house or a fleet of cars through my corporation, my taxable income is reduced by the cost of those items. Technically, I could reduce my taxable income to zero with a corporation by spending all the profits on expansion. Rich people often have an income less than the taxable level because they know to keep their assets within a corporation. The whole argument of taxation on the rich is silly since it can’t be done. It’s what’s called a token gesture: a statement of offering to do something knowing the recipient will either decline the offer or the offer does not apply to the circumstances and cannot be accepted. Politicians do it all the time.

In what way? If anything, why do you think that McCain has been trying so hard create a smear campaign against Obama? It’s because he wanted people to try and focus on that rather than dig up the dirt on him, which it’s obvious that there’s a lot more of, such as him saying he has traditional family values, yet he was dating and having sex with his second wife while still legally married to his first. I could go on listing other shit, but I’ll stick to the issue at hand which is all about taxes.

A lawyer with an average salary of $250,000 a year would actually still be getting a rough $1,600 tax cut under Obama. Sure, it’s not as good as McCain’s $7,300 one, but he’ll just keep giving bigger breaks to the investment bankers and CEO’s of the world. They’d get an approximately $11,600 and $91,000 tax break respectively (according to the official Tax Policy Center). Also, this bull-shit about people taking the "easy route"? A teacher that only makes about $50,000 a year would be getting a $1,100 break. Tell me how being a teacher is taking an "easy route". If anything, that’d be a fucking suck ass job, and not a lot of people are even willing to become a teacher.
