What do you remember about your life and times of events while listening to music?? Are there memories of events that are still vivid and remembering them is fun?? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
I remember listening to Iron Butterfly’s In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, Pink Floyd’s Piper, Meddle, Moon, Black Sabbath’s Self Titled, Paranoid, Masters of, Bloody Sabbath, Volume 4, Sabotage (lot’s of Sabbath, and it was good) ELP, Yes, Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin and SO much more.
We did this listening all through the early and mid 1970’s in my buddy John’s cellar in front of the Mono Hi Fidelity Phonograph that his folks had handed down to him.
It looked like this, but the wood was Blonde in color:
It was a GREAT time for listening to tunes under the glow of Colored and Black lights shining off of the various psychedelic and band posters we had collected to dress up our little listening area.
We would occasionally get blitzed BEFORE we went in to listen until the wee hours of the morning after which I would have to ride my bike or walk a couple of miles to my house to go to sleep. But mostly we would listen right after school, THEN go out when it was dark and get blitzed, and we’d have some kind of tunes going, a tape deck or SOMETHIN’ to listen to.
MAN THAT was FUN times!! And MUSIC was a BIG part of the FUN!

Here are some small specific memories that come to mind OTHER than the one above.
I remember lying on the floor in the living room listening to Deep Purple’s Made in Japan album on my parents Stereo Phonograph very quietly as not to disturb the parents in 1972.
I remember cruising around (drinking and driving) in my buddy’s ride in 1975 listening to Frampton Comes Alive on 8Track Tape for WEEKS when THAT came out. That album is STILL great!! I wonder how many of you remember 8Track Tape?!?!??
Also in 1975 I remember setting up two speakers really close to my ears to get the LIVE feel of the FIRST Kiss Alive album. It was ROCKIN’!!
Just a few small memories from the life of Viper’s early listening to music days.

The first concert i ever went to was a Maynard Ferguson concert with my dad. I was 10, this guys about 80 and all he does is hack off the entire time. My dad worships him and he did do some cool stuff back in his younger days but its just another case of the falled mighty. I’ll admit hes got chops on him and i did get to shake his hand. And now that i look at the whole picture, my first show ever was a front row jazz concert. Now, 6 years later, im going to smoke-filled bars and clubs at small time metal shows, getting center crowd and beating the shit out of everyone around me... who could have seen that coming?

One memory I’ll probably always have is when I got my first Ac Dc album, The Razor’s Edge. I remember it was past midnight and I was in my room laying on my bed and listening to them. They were the first "heavy" band I had pretty much ever heard..

I remember my first acid trip, I listend to Dark Side of the Moon for 4 hours out in my living room, then I went in my room and let the windows media player visualizations suck me in.
I learned so much about myself that night...
I remember my 4th acid trip at my friends house too, I remmber listening to Modest Mouse. They make great trip music. It was the night I almost got caught too, it was me and 3 friends, we were just tripping in my friends room but 2 of my friends wanted to go out and watch star wars with my friends mom, I was trippin balls though, I didn’t want to go anywhere at all, my good friend stayed with me.
They didn’t close the bedroom door all the way, so I went up to close it. My friend’s mom walked past the door as I was shutting it, and to me she looked like some sort of demon, I freaked out and slammed the door, but we didn’t get in trouble. Later that night she made cookies and I could barely walk out to get them. I was having trouble getting them into my mouth.
His mom was giving me weird looks and it was making me nervous. She asked me if I was alright and I said I was just really tired, I was slurring really bad. She looked into my eyes, probably checking to see if my pupils were dialated, they were dialated as fuck, but she didn’t notice.
I think she still suspects somethings p, se seemed irritated that I was still there at 3pm the next day, even though she had ok’d the sleepover.
It was still one of the best trips I had ever had though.
I remember getting high and listening to Phish on a CD player whilst walking around not to far from a mates house. If I remember correctly it was You Enjoy Myself but thats not important. Afterwards we all started singing Tom Jones as loud as possible.

I remember bitching at my mom for making me go in the grocery store when I wanted to sit in the car and listen to Van Halen, fishing with my old step dad listening to Queensriche and blasting Megadeth all the way there and home.
